Here at PHOSPHENE we understand that our customers have many, varied, requirements from a hire company.
Perhaps most of all, these days, many of you are looking for low prices. Well we're delighted to tell you that PHOSPHENE is THE most economical hire company in the area.
More importantly though PHOSPHENE is a family firm with unrivalled staff expertise in stage lighting and sound, able to offer you free friendly advice and assistance with your show.
PHOSPHENE can supply a wide variety of equipment types. We list here the most popular lines. Mostly we show generic types...no jumble of manufacuters' type numbers and codes. Specific types and models may occasionally be available on demand at a premium rate if required, so please ask.
All theatrical hires are for a period of one week (7 days). Theatrical weeks (collect Friday afternoon, return 10 days later on Monday morning) may be agreed on occasions at our discretion. All dimmable lanterns are fitted with industry standard 15a round pin plug. Equipment requiring an independant (non dimmable) feed is fitted with a 13a plug.
Rates shown are for one week. VAT will be charged in addition.
What do you need to do to hire from Phosphene?
Well, if you aren't an account customer we will require a deposit, calculated on a sliding scale depending what equipment you need to hire, which has to be paid at the time of booking in cash. (We can't take credit cards for deposits, because we will be refunding the amount at the conclusion of the hire... when you bring our goods back!)
When you contact us, make sure that you can tell us:-
The date you need to collect the gear.
The date you will bring it back.
The performance dates, and where the performance will be. (this helps us make sure you get the right equipment for the venue).
Your name, address and land-line telephone number. An email address is useful in addition, but isn't a substitute for these contact details.
The name of the company or society, if you are booking for a show, and the name, address and telephone number of the society official who deals with the accounts (usually the treasurer).
And, of course, the equipment you need. If you want advice, just ask. We'll help you.
There's no booking without these details....but as soon as we have your information and deposit we'll send you confirmation of your hire.
Then when you come to collect the equipment you just need to pay the hire fee, by cash, cheque (with a guarentee card) or any major card.
Your deposit is handed back when you return the hire equipment.
Remember that LX and sound gear may be bulky. (some items are supplied flight cased) so check the load size before collecting. Make sure you've folded your rear seats down properly, if collecting by car, and avoid bringing lots of passengers.....they might have to walk home!
and, sorry WE DON'T SEND HIRE EQUIPMENT BY CARRIER... you need to collect from our retail outlet in Stowmarket, Mid Suffolk. The costs and extra hire time involved in carriage just aren't viable. Really sorry all you folk who live outside our immediate vicinity, but, hey, you might find useful information on the site if nothing else... and you can still use our free advice service if you email us!
